The Power of Ideas

1410499907676_power-of-ideasWords have become easier to spread nowadays. Since it’s the age of technology and all, the spreading of word becomes viral. Back then, in philosophy, ideas are usually construed as mental representational images of some object. Ideas can also be abstractconcepts that do not present as mental images.

Many philosophers have considered ideas to be a fundamental ontologicalcategory of being. The capacity to create and understand the meaning of ideas is considered to be an essential and defining feature of human beings. In a popular sense, an idea arises in a reflexive, spontaneous manner, even without thinking or serious reflection, for example, when we talk about the idea of a person or a place. Even fleeting thoughts about something you’ve seen or about anything that captures your attention could spark an idea in you.

Today, many psychologists attest to spread the word through a minimal amount of time. As they say, many of the greatest ideas back then could be taught in a limited amount of time. The over complicated ideas and facts of psychologists before then can be simplified today.

An organization who hosts people who share their thoughts and ideas is one amazing project that has been launched. TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world. This organization makes it easy for psychologist to share their thoughts through a packed lecture for a certain time. This minimum amount of time can give a lot through talking about a certain topic. This has been very helpful especially for those facts that are discovered back then and being remembered today. It is a good way of reinventing past ideas and elevating them into modern times.

Lectures are helpful for those aspiring psychologists and present psychologists. This helps them to reconnect their own ideas with the past ones and share it for the entire audience to have a better view of their perspective. There is no need to complicate any situation through fabulous words and extravagant examples. There are different views in terms of ideas but the main point is to reconnect with the age today and find solutions in spreading them in a manner that everyone gets the better understanding.
