The Top 6 Reasons People Stay Stuck in Stress- Reason 5 and 6

Today I wanted to complete my series on the top reasons people stay stuck in stress.  Hopefully these tips will assist you with your stress management to some degree.

Reasons 5 and 6

5.       Not taking action. If all you do is write out your goals, but take no action, the tendency to succumb to old ways is huge. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Write down one small action step into your To Do list that you could do tomorrow. E.g.  Plan 10 minutes to prioritize (A, B or C) then go through your task list and abandon ten items from your “C” list.

walk6.       Not rewarding yourself. Often people accomplish huge goals, then immediately set a new goal without ever taking time to celebrate their achievement. Our creative minds respond to positive reinforcement, almost like a dog to a treat.

Promise yourself ahead of time a reward for taking action towards your ideal outcome, for example, going to a movie, or taking a walk in nature, or taking the day off. Whatever would feel like a reward or would make you feel appreciated. You will notice a much greater motivation to change your habits to something more supportive.
